After the quake

March 20th, 2011

Dear friends,

Over a week has passed since the devastating earthquake and tsunami struck the coasts of north-eastern Japan.

We offer our deepest condolences to those in the affected areas and hope that you and your loved ones in Japan are safe.

Everyone directly connected to the Hafu Project–the core team and the film participants–are doing well and slowly returning to our normal routines. We have stalled production for now but hope to get back to filming with our participants soon.

We also hope to do what we can within the power of this film to help with relief efforts. We will be brainstorming on this and get back to you shortly.

In the meantime, we ask that you contribute to two great organizations working on the ground: JEN and Peace Boat.

Here is also a wonderful video sent by fellow hafu Sean Ichiro Manes who is an elementary music teacher in NJ. Spring will come to Japan.
